The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for 2 x Mechanical Engineering Graduates to join our growing team based at our head office in Ascot, WA in FEB 2025.

We are looking for candidates with a passion to learn and a keen interest in mineral processing,who want to work on significant projects across a range of commodities.

You will be part of a team and be mentored by experienced engineers across a range of disciplines and projects. 

You will have the opportunity to work both in the design office and on site making real contributions to current projects.

  • Engineers who want to see their designs come to life spending time both in the office learning the theoretical and on site understanding the practical.

  • Previous exposure to engineering through vacation programs or other work helps but it’s not essential.

  • As a graduate mechanical engineer you will prepare designs alongside experienced engineers. 
  • Some of the key responsibilities you will learn are:
    • How to develop detailed mechanical calculations for conveyors, pumps and other systems.
    • Working with drafting teams to layout process plants, design components, reviewing 3D models and check 2D drawings.
    • Developing mechanical data sheets and specifications to allow equipment selection and purchase.
    • How to provide technical assistance to our own construction teams, ensuring a high level of constructability and practicality in our designs.
  • Additional courses and training in specialised discipline software.
  • Exposure to civil / structural, electrical and process engineers within the GRES organisation. 
  • Exposure to the project team including project managers to appreciate what it takes to deliver a project on time and on budget.

To be eligible:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Be in your final study year of study or have recently graduated.
  • Be available to start with GRES full-time at the start of February 2025
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or have full working rights  *note applicants from outside Australia and or those with restricted working rights will NOT be considered 
  • Be prepared to work in various locations in a FIFO capacity on a 3 and 1 roster as required
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft office suite.
