GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries.  Our services cover all aspects of a project life cycle from the initial evaluation and study phase through to design, constructions, commissioning and operational support.

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Materials Supervisor to join our growing site based team. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you would be responsible for overseeing all field procurement activities, and the coordination of inward and outward goods.

This role is based on our Project Site, on a 3x1 FIFO roster.

Your responsibilities would be (but not limited to)

  • Overseeing all field procurement activities, including hired equipment interface
  • Coordinating expediting of inward & outward goods
  • Liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, Perth office and client team regarding the above
  • Coordinate transportation on/ off site
  • Arrange on site escorting of transport vehicles
  • Arrange safe unloading of transport vehicles
  • Coordinate the distribution materials and equipment in appropriately designated lay down yards
  • Set up & maintenance of registers and site plan of goods received and location
  • Active use and maintenance of inward bound goods tracking systems and interfaces and production of reports as required
  • Assist supervisors in locating materials and equipment
  • Maintain suitable demarcation and control of laydown areas and contents
  • Commitment to health, safety & environmental compliance
  • Cover the role of materials controller as rosters dictate.
  • Forecast manpower and equipment requirements for efficient functioning of the materials control team

What you will bring: 

  • Experience in supervising a site materials and logistic function.
  • Preferably a trade background.
  • Machine operator’s tickets are a strong advantage.
  • Functional proficiency with basic Microsoft applications e.g. word, excel.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of logistics tracking systems.
  • Experience working on mineral resources construction projects
  • Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
