GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries.  Our services cover all aspects of a project life cycle from the initial evaluation and study phase through to design, constructions, commissioning and operational support.

We are currently seeking a Lead Metallurgist / Process Engineer to join our growing office team based in our Ascot office. Working alongside a multi-disciplined engineering and design team, you will provide support to the Technical Services team by providing site commissioning and process design, in relation to study and project activities.

This role is intended for an experienced metallurgist who has had both plant and engineering experience is looking to move into lead role in engineering, design and project development. You will be able to apply your site and engineering  skills, knowledge and understanding to develop practical process design and be involved in all phases of projects from scoping studies to project commissioning.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Complete the process design through analysing test work outcomes and using sound metallurgical principles for the projects under development
• Site commissioning and ramp up of the current projects
• Process design and prepare process design information
• Work with JKSimMet and SysCAD modelling software to develop process designs, mass and balance models for processes under design
• Assist in the coordination of risk assessments, HAZID, HAZAN and HAZOP activities and workshops
• Review designs, calculations, vendor data and study documents where delegated
• Liaise with specialist consultants and sub-consultants in relation to process specific design elements undertaken outside GRES

Skills/Qualifications:

• A degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering essential 
• Minimum 10 years operational and/or design experience
• Experience working in a mineral processing engineering, design and construction environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills together with sound writing skills for reports and proposals
• Ability to work collaboratively to develop practical solutions to complex problems
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
