The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Team working alongside a multidisciplined team to deliver outstanding results across various projects in the mining and minerals industry

Based out of our Brisbane CBD office you would work on various projects across Australia across a variety of commodities ( gold ,copper, iron ore etc) primarily in our Brisbane office but there would be some site visits depending on project requirements 

Your typical day will consist of:

  • Develop comprehensive Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) design packages aligned with Australian Standards and project specifications across minerals processing environments.
  • Design HV, LV, and ELV power distribution systems, MCCs, substations, and control systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Processing teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions—on time and within budget.
  • Manage procurement and technical evaluation of electrical equipment packages and contracts, including HV switchgear, transformers, VSDs, UPS, generators, instrumentation, and installation scopes.
  • Work closely with drafting and engineering teams to produce high-quality E&I drawings and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates on project schedules, progress, and task-specific deliverables.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, technical assessments, and project reporting with clarity and precision.
  • Support on-site commissioning, post-construction troubleshooting, and system optimization across complex E&I installations.

About you :

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) – Engineers Australia
  • 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally within the minerals processing sector
  • Proven expertise in designing Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Termination Diagrams, General Arrangements, Layouts, HV/LV switchgear, power distribution, and cabling systems
  • Strong exposure to control systems, instrumentation, and full-cycle commissioning
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as ETAP
  • Deep understanding of Australian Standards, with exposure to IEC standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines, clients, and stakeholders
  • Full & unrestricted Australian working rights - no sponsorship avaliable and applicants MUST reside in Australia
