GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is a leading process engineering consulting and contracting company that specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries.

The Opportunity:

We are on the lookout for an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team and play key leadership role on a large project in Western Australia.

This positions is ideally suited to a Senior Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career in the delivery of major construction projects , within the EPC sector.

As a potential leader of a multi-disciplinary construction team, the ideal candidates should be able to commit to a 2x1 FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) roster from Perth (other states will be considered) and will be responsible for:

A typical day will consist of:

  • Provide leadership to the development and maintenance of a safe working ethic and practices for the construction period and handover transition to commissioning
  • Implement and manage the construction safety management plan
  • Attend and participate in the Occupational Health and Safety committee
  • Ensure satisfactory performance of each site group in achieving the health and safety goals required
  • Provide constructability input to the design process
  • Ensure there are adequate safety resources, services and facilities at each site
  • Manage and coordinate construction works to ensure safe, timely and effective delivery 
  • Monitor and manage progress in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Ensure adequate resourcing of labour and equipment is available to meet project schedules
  • Coordinate all disciplines of construction
  • Ensure incoming logistics are received, stored and distributed 
  • Represent Company at site Client progress meetings as required
  • Responsible to ensure all site personnel comply with the site quality requirements
  • Responsible to ensure all site personnel comply with the Environmental protection requirements and that they are implemented and integrated into the regular working methods
  • Leadership role in Emergency Management, and site Evacuations
  • Ensure compliance with and document daily pre-starts, toolbox meetings and equipment prestart checks
  • Leadership role in site construction risk assessments, and crane studies 

About you:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in Senior Supervisory position 
  • Engineering or trades background with relevant experience
  • Previous construction management experience particularly in the mineral resource or materials handling industries.
  • Knowledge of current construction and mining industry safety legislation and standards.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership abilities
  • Valid National Police clearance
  • Full and unrestricted Australian working rights 
  • The ability to pass a full medical and DAS 
  • White Card
  • Current S26
