GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is a leading process engineering consulting and contracting company that specialises in providing high quality engineering design and construction services to the mining and mineral processing industries.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Payroll Manager to lead our Payroll team at our Head Office in Ascot, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong leadership skills to oversee the end-to-end payroll function and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll across our growing organisation.

Your Typical Day Will Consist Of

  • Manage and process the end-to-end weekly payroll process for approximately 600 employees, including salaried employees and those covered by Enterprise Agreements.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the Payroll team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
  • Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Overseeing payroll compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, superannuation, and payroll-related obligations.
  • Managing payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to payroll systems, processes, and controls.
  • Providing expert payroll advice and support to internal stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years' payroll experience, including substantial experience in a Payroll Manager or Payroll Supervisor role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing payroll teams.
  • Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, Enterprise Agreements, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.
  • The ability and desire to learn to configure payroll systems
